Silver medallist at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games, Mr Lechedzani Luza has been appointed to serve in the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) Athletes Advisory Commission (AAC) where he shall, together with Ms Natalie du Toit from South Africa, represent Africa in the six (6) member commission. Mr Luza served as the BNOC Athletes Commission Chairman and was the athlete representative in the Board from 2013-2017.

“We are delighted that that one of our own has been appointed into the CGF Athlete advisory body, I believe that he will make meaningful contribution as a former athlete and from his experience serving in the Athlete Commission.” said Mr. Tuelo Serufho, BNOC CEO.

The AAC is established to represent the views of the athletes and to provide advice to the CGF Executive Board in order to plan and deliver an athlete-centred and sport-focused Games, providing the best possible sporting experience for all participating athletes of the Commonwealth Games.

Luza has been appointed for a period of 4 years and shall be eligible to serve for a maximum of two consecutive terms.
