The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced the 3rd Young Reporters Programme, a sports journalism programme that will run during the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games. The programme brings 30 young reporters from five continents who will be accredited to train and work at the Main Press Centre during the 2018 Youth Olympic Games.

To qualify the young journalists should be:

  • Aged 18 – 24years old
  • Be studying journalism or working as a reporter
  • Have reporting proficiency in English
  • Have a portfolio of work and references
  • Be available to arrive in Buenos Aries on 30th September and depart 19th October, 2018.

Invitation is open to all Batswana who meet the above criteria. The IOC will cover economy fare travel, meals and sharing accommodation. Young reporters will receive intensive class and field training in written, photographic, television, radio and new media reporting on the sport as well as dedicated forums with guest speakers representing key international media organizations and senior Olympic officials. 

The Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC) would like to invite applications as per the above criterion for this programme.
Submissions open on 7th August and close on 31st August, 2017.
The IOC will announce names of successful candidates on 12 December, 2017 following one on one interviews in English.
Candidates should submit their applications to  or in person to BNOC offices, Plot No. 50367, MVA Fund Building, 1st Floor, Fairgrounds by 31st August, 2017.
